Gloucestershire College is a modern, well-equipped college,
with a thriving community of UK and international students from across
the globe. We offer a range of education and training programmes,
including for school leavers and mature students.
Our campuses are kitted out with top-of-the-range
technology, affordable restaurants and nurseries,
a theatre, recording studios, sports facilities, and
libraries brimming with books and online resources.
In partnership with the University of West England (UWE Bristol), we’re developing the UK’s future cyber generation. We will be offering brand new cyber degrees starting from September 2020, expanding our current computer and cyber course.
Our new dedicated training facility at our Cheltenham campus has received over £2m worth of investment through the Government’s Institute of Technology programme. This goes hand-in-hand with Cheltenham Borough Council’s plan to establish Cheltenham as the leading cyber capital of the UK.
Our training is delivered in college and the workplace; apprentices complete their apprenticeships with not only recognised professional qualifications, but also valuable industry knowledge, skills and behaviours that they can implement in the workplace.
Since starting my job I’ve learned so much already, it’s blown my mind.
I’m learning new stuff every day and every day is different. From doing the course at Gloucestershire College and now onto my Level 4 Apprenticeship I think it’s given me a foot in the door into the industry which I wouldn’t have had.
– Chosen Hill SchoolI found college a better way of learning, it’s less formal and more hands-on in its approach.
I have always been interested in computing, and IT security is in huge demand now. The college is so close to GCHQ and other more commercial businesses with IT systems.
I find the course really interesting, understanding the motivations as to why people hack and learning how to prevent this from happening and protecting other’s information.

After finishing the course, I want to do a degree on cyber security and then plan on setting up my own business with one of my fellow students as a Penetration Tester.
